Maryland Wildlife Advisory Commission
The Maryland Wildlife Advisory Commission operates in an advisory capacity. “The Commission was created by legislation to advise the Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources on wildlife matters.” There are 9 commissioners, appointed by the Governor for 4 year terms. The Governor solicits nominations from individuals who promote the future of hunting of the preservation of wildlife in the state. There must be representation from the farming community on the Commission. As of mid-2021, 7 seats are occupied by men and at least 6 members are consumptive users.
